Unveiling the Tuktut: Our Lightest Hard Wall Truck Camper, Ever.

Yakima, WA - Adventurer Manufacturing, the innovative force behind Scout Campers, is thrilled to announce the launch of their latest addition to the Scout line: the Tuktut truck camper. With its compact size and remarkable features, the Tuktut is set to redefine the possibilities for outdoor enthusiasts.

As the smallest model in the Scout lineup, the Tuktut offers a nimble and lightweight camping solution. Drawing inspiration from Canada's Tuktut Nogait National Park, the camper is named after the Inuvialuit phrase meaning "young caribou." This reflects Scout Campers' continued commitment to nature and the spirit of adventure.

Weighing in at just 634lbs, the Tuktut is almost 300lbs lighter than its counterpart, the Yoho model. This weight reduction makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of midsize trucks, including the compact Ford Maverick, Jeep Gladiator, Ford Ranger 5’ bed, Toyota Tacoma 5’ bed, and other vehicles previously incompatible with Scout due to payload or bed dimension limitations.

Unlike Scout’s three larger models, which range in sleeping capacity from 4 to 6 individuals, Tuktut’s sleeping capacity is sized for 2, with aftermarket customization leaving open the possibility for accommodating additional children or pets. That number reflects not just Tuktut’s overall size, but also the compact, lightweight travel style that Tuktut makes possible.

The standard amenities included with Tuktut include a 22" entry door with clear glass window and snap cover, entry assist bar, thermal pane windows with screens and solar reflective shades, outdoor performance fabric cushions, a ratchet tie-down system, a spacious 47.5" x 69.6" bunk mattress, and a robust aluminum exo-skeleton framing with a gel coat fiberglass exterior and roof, all built using a no-wood, full composite substrate construction.

Tuktut’s additional options (available directly from the factory) include removable camper jacks, bilateral bedrail runners, and an all-new powder-coated portaledge bunk extension system. The new portaledge bunk extension allows for a full 80" sleeping length and features a new Molle design for multifunctional storage solution when in the stow position. For customers looking to incorporate features available on Scout’s Yoho or Olympic models, upfitting is slated to be made available through any of Scout’s service centers.

Beyond the standard and optional features available direct from factory, Scout is proud to announce that they’ve partnered with one of the outdoor industry’s most reputable manufacturers of modular storage solutions: Goose Gear. Goose Gear’s golden reputation is based on their superior quality standards, and they’ve worked closely with brands like Alu-Cab, A.T. Overland, Super Pacific, Winnebago, and more.

In this brand-new collaboration with Scout, Goose Gear has worked closely with Scout’s team of engineers to create 6 unique Explore Series modules, exclusively designed to configure within Scout’s Tuktut model. These modules, featuring Goose Gear's proprietary MaxLite™ extrusion profile, offer optimal functionality and reduced weight by 26%.

As described on Goose Gear’s website, their Explore Series is “made of 6063 Aluminum alloy with T6 tempering, its stronger than industry standards for slotted profiles and has high corrosion resistance.” These durable features, paired with lightweight functionality, make the Explore Series a natural integration into Scout’s minimalist and utilitarian product offerings.

Tuktut’s Explore Series modules are available for purchase and installation through any of Scout’s existing dealer/service centers, any of Goose Gear’s dealer locations, or have their modules installed at the factory for onsite deliveries.

With a starting price of just $16,500 for the Essentialist (base) model, the Tuktut offers an attainable entry point into the world of truck camping. This price point allows customers to have full control over their budget, with the flexibility to add-on and customize the camper according to their personal preferences and needs. Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to the world of outdoor exploration, the Tuktut provides an affordable and customizable solution to embark on unforgettable adventures without breaking the bank.

Pre-orders for the Tuktut will open on May 17th, 2023, online at scoutcampers.com. To give enthusiasts a firsthand experience of the Tuktut's exceptional features, demo models will be available for touring at two key locations. Starting May 19th, visitors at Overland Expo West (Flagstaff, AZ) can explore the Tuktut in person by stopping in at the Goose Gear booth.
