1969 -

Founded

At the age of forty- nine, Erdman Epp had been a general manager for a co-op store in western Canada for twenty-two years. He then found himself looking for work and purchased a camper company in 1969 with five employees. It was there that the Epp family began it's journey into the RV industry.

1970’s -

Setting the Foundation

Erdman was focused on instilling a hard work ethic and an attention to detail to his staff and family members. He wanted to build a company with good business ethics and nothing made him happier than a satisfied customer.

James Epp, Erdmans son spent his summer breaks and holidays working for the company full-time and then worked twenty-hours a week during school. Doing whatever needed to help, from sweeping floors, counting inventory and being the helping hand when and wherever asked.

1980’s -

Passing the Torch

After experiencing a period of growth and success Erdman decided in 1983 to make James an offer to purchase the company. He was twenty- nine years old and the company had grown to twenty-five employees overall.

Diversifying

James in early 1988 decided it was time to alter the course of the company and divide into two distinct ventures.

Fraserway RV - A dealership network aimed at sales and servicing of RV's.

Slumber Queen MFG- A manufacturing focused company driven to build and establish quality focused products the company was founded upon.

1990’s -

Re Defining Service

In 1993 Slumber Queen MFG, needed to keep up with customer demands. This lead to building a new 16,000 sqft expansion which increased the overall operating capacity to 32,000.

In addition to honouring Adventurer Manufacturing’s rich history, the 1990s saw a rededication to younger generations of travelers. In order to appeal to younger buyers, the 90FWS Adventurer model was produced to give these individuals the freedom they desired.

2000’s -

A New Beginning

The 2000's for many business's provided hardship, traveling became harder for many families. Overall sales were declining in the RV industry collectively. Strategic decisions were needed to drive Adventurer Manufacturing forward.

The Solution

After successfully operating out of Abbotsford, British Columbia for over 30 years. A decision was made to move to the current facility in Yakima, Washington was made in 2008. This allowed Adventurer Manufacturing to expand its operating capacity and become more sustainable in the future.

The company has grown from a small regional operation to an international industry leader, with an unrivalled reputation for outstanding service, quality and value.

Who knew that 50 years later the company would grow from five employees to over one hundred and twenty presently.
